Survey says cutting supply chain costs is priority

Supply Chain Futures, a specialist in supply chain recruitment, has noted that supply chain managers are prioritising the reduction of supply chain costs and pressuring the “speed of change in consumer markets” over the next five years. The research comes according to a recent European logistics occupier survey by Jones Lang LaSalle, which also suggests that the “re-alignment of distribution networks to manage cost pressures” will also be essential in order to stay competitive. Supply chains eliminate conflict minerals

Research by the Enough Project revealed that sizeable companies are “beginning to rid their supply chains of conflict minerals such as tin, tungsten and gold,” in a bid to put an end to the violence and human rights crises surrounding who controls and sells these minerals. (more…)

Logistics News: DHL’s Master Logistics Plan for China

DHL’s Customer Solutions and Innovation Department, is to start a city Logistics Master Research Plan for China’s city of Chengdu. The project will focus on the analysis of the supply chain of “fast-moving consumer goods from various sectors such as super markets, wholesale markets and franchised stores.” (more…)
